Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

BSF Lesson 12 - 17 May 2016

The First 6 Seals

Aim: God is in control even as God allows sins & evil to run its full course.

1. Four Horsemen (Rev 6:1-8)
Principle 1: Sin causes conflict & destroys life

2 points to note:
a. What takes place on earth, may not be known to men, but fully known to God & Jesus
b. What happens is under complete control by God

2. Faithful Matyrs (Rev 6:9-11)
Principle 2: God is just & will vindicate those who suffer for Christ.

Revenge = self centred
Justice = God centered, holy & right
Divine justice .... Results in God's glory revealed

Waiting for God's timing & will is part of Christian living. His timing is perfect, He knows best!!

3. Fearful Signs (Rev 6:12-17)
Principle 3: God alone is the only refuge in His just judgement.

- Unbelievers think they can escape judgement by dying (eg suicide); no consequence after death ... Not so!!
- Pride of man to be brought Low and humbled ....
- If Grace does not humble us .... Then Judgement must .... By this time it is too late!!
