Sin will be reckoned eventually

Aim: Sin has dire consequences as God’s judgement is just!

1. Jericho consecrated (5:13-6:27)

Principle 1: God’s judgement is just

2. Achan compromised (7:1-8:29)

Principle 2: Sin multiplies

Have you trivalised sin in your life

3. Israel complacent (8:30-9:27)

Principle 3: it only takes a momentary lapse of judgement to sin!

Take to heart:

Forget your past

Remember

- God’s promises can be counted on

- sin distorts and destroys

- yet sin does not have the last word, Jesus’ do

- you do not and need not struggle alone
