Jesus Washes His Disciples' Feet (John 13:1-30)
Aim: Jesus calls believers to humble service
1. Cleansed by Jesus John 13:1-11
Principle 1: those who are called to Jesus are called to submit to His cleansing

2. Called to Serve - John 13:12-17
Principle 2: Those who follow Jesus are called to serve others with humility

3. Called to Surrender - John 13:18-30
Principle 3: Consistently refusing to surrender our will to Jesus opens us to be controlled by Satan

The Raising of Lazarus (John 11)
Aim: Jesus' power to give life calls for belief and worship
 
1. Delay & Death (John 11:1-16)
Principle 1: God allows disasters and suffering to grow faith.
 
2. Deliverance of Lazarus (John 11:17-44)
Principle 2: Only Jesus has the power to overcome death and renew life.
 
3. Deadly conspiracy (John 11:45-57)
Principle 3: God's plan cannot be overcome by man's evil schemes

Principle 1: Love for Jesus is expressed in selfless sacrifice & devotion



2. Jesus' hour has come (John 12:12-26)

Principle 2: to be with Jesus  forever requires hating our lives in this world


3. Jesus gives his final call (John 12:27-50)

Principle 3: Jesus exhorts all to believe in Him or face God's judgment

Jesus and the Man Born Blind (John 9)

Aim: Jesus is the light that overcomes darkness & the power of sin.

 

1. Jesus Gives Sight (John 9:1-7)

Principle 1: Jesus seeks people to reveal who He is and their need for Him.

 

2. Jesus Rejected by People (John 9:8-34)

Principle 2: Jesus has provided enough evidence for people to believe in Him.

 

3. Jesus Opens Spiritual Eyes (John 9:35-41)

Principle 3: Jesus opens the eyes of the spiritually blind to save them from judgement.

Principle 2: Jesus gift of full life is eternally secure in the hands of God & Jesus

Principle 3: The Scriptures, Jesus words & works all show Him to be God
