The Prologue (John 1:1-8)

Aim – Jesus Christ is God, the eternal Creator through whom life and light are given.

 

1.      Jesus Christ is Eternal (John 1 :1-5)

Principle 1:  A life lived for Jesus Christ is eternally soul satisfying & fulfilling.

 

2.      Jesus Christ is God (John 1:6-11)

Principle 2:  Jesus Christ is the absolute truth whom the world need to know.

 

3.      Jesus Christ is God Incarnate (John 1:12-18)

Principle 3: The only way to know God is through knowing Jesus Christ.

John the Baptist’s Witness & the First Disciples (John 1:19-51)

Aim: Our identity is found in Jesus Christ

1. Who we are not. (John 1:19-28)

Principle 1: Focusing our attention on Jesus defines our identity.

 

2. Who Jesus is. (John1:29-34)

Principle 2: Jesus is God’s only chosen One able to restore my relationship with God & give new life. 

 

3. Jesus is the “Axis Mundi” (John1:35-51)

Prionciple 3: Our lives’ full potential is only fulfilled by putting our lives in Jesus’ hand.

Meaning of Axis Mundi

Per Wikipedia 

The axis mundi (also cosmic axis, world axis, world pillar, center of the world, world tree), in certain beliefs and philosophies, is the world center, or the connection between Heaven and Earth. As the celestial pole and geographic pole, it expresses a point of connection between sky and earth where the four compass directions meet. At this point travel and correspondence is made between higher and lower realms.

Principle 3: Everyone who meets Jesus must choose between faith and unbelief.
